Cuba Politburo Expels One of It?s Own

Cuba’s Communist Party leadership said Friday it has expelled one of its younger Politburo members for repeatedly failing to overcome such ‘errors’ as abuse of authority and arrogance. Cuban officials had once pointed with pride to Juan Carlos Robinson as an example of the island’s young black leadership. Robinson, now 49, had been the party’s first secretary for the Santiago Province since 1994.

School sends kids to closed amusement park

Four bus loads of students from O’Brien Middle School made the four-hour trip to Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo, Calif., only to find the amusement park’s gates locked Monday. The school-sponsored trip was supposed to reward top students.

Censure not sure

Los Gatos officials plan to make additions to the town’s code of conduct after a recent nasty incident in which the council all but censured fellow Councilman Steve Glickman. Turns out they couldn’t censure him because the code doesn’t include such language. So they’ll add it. But they did rule that Glickman violated the code when he urged a planning commissioner to appear at a council meeting on a pet issue of the councilman’s.
